Ellie drove down the long highway until she drove under a ceder post sign that read "The McCoy Ranch". She grinned and couldn't wait to get her new mare out and let her run around in her new paddock. Ellie loved this ranch more than anything. The fence was made out of ceder posts aswell as the round pens and the arena. They tried to make a barn out of ceder post, but it wouldn't block the cold out so they just went with a metal barn. Ellie grinned as she drove into the ranch yard adn notice her brothers where gone. She was pretty lucky to not have then standing around waiting for her to get home. Ellie parked the red dodge close to the barn. She knew she need to make sure she could catch the mare so she was going to stable her in the barn for a week and get her to know her and the guys before letting her out in a paddock all by herself. Ellie grinned and jumped out of the truck and walked to the back of the trailer and began to unlock the trailer doors and push them back out of the way. Hey there sweet girl, come on back up. SHe knew this mare was "wild", but something inside of her told her that this mare knew what she was doing. Even if she was a horse that knew alot, she was still going to treat her as a wild horse. Ellie walekd to the side gate and stepped in and to ahold of the lead and put presser to get the mare to back up.Easy girl, now take it easy. We are in no hurry. She said with a grin and waited.

Gabriela noticed that the trailer had come to a stop. We must be here.She thought. She heard the trailer door open and saw Ellie come in. Ellie spoke to her softly and backed her out. Gabriela backed out of the trailer easily. She hoped that this would be her home. It looked great. Everything was made out of cedarwood it looked like except the barn which was made out of metal. She nickered as she saw other horses standing out in a wood paddock. Gabriela also noticed that their was cattle here as well. She perkered her twin towers as she heard someone drive up. The fae wondered who was coming. She turned her head back around to face Ellie.

Ellie grinned at the mare and began to walk her toward the barn. Ellie was going to atleast put her in the barn for tonight with a small turn out paddock to go along with it. Ellie went down a row of stalls run out's until she got to the last five broodmare turn outs and opened a paddock gate that lead to a stall and uncliped the lead from the halter to let the bay mare smell around. Ellie shut the gate and walked up to the stall door that was shut and opened it so that the bay mare could walk in and out and get water and feed which she still needed to do. She turned on the automatic water bowl and opened the stall door to the barn isle and saw her brother walking in the barn.Hello Clint, She said with a grin as she walked toward the hay loft. Ellie grabbed two flakes of hay from a bale and carried them down and put them in the hay rack. What do you go there Ellie? She knew she was in trouble becuase they usely didn't take in nothing but quarter horses's and paints, but this was her horse.Well she looks more like an arabian. She has the dished face, but she is suppost to be "wild" but she is pretty calm mare. She told him with a grin and Clint just shook his head and knew he couldn't say anything for she already bought the silly mare. Ellie went into the feed room just as soon as Clint went into the office and got a bucket of sweet feed with alittle bit of oats. She came back and slipped her body into the stall and poured it in the pan that attached to the hay rack.

The fae followed Ellie as she was led into a stall. Ellie turned on the water bucket. She heard someone say something to Ellie but she replied back. Gabriela wondered what he said. Gabrielatook a drink of water. She looked up from the stall as she saw Ellie come in with a bucket of what looked like sweet feed with oats in it. Gabriela waited untill Ellie poured the grain into the pan that was attached to her hay rack. As soon as Ellie was done pouring the feed in Gabriela took a couple of bites of the grain. Gabriela finished her grain and took another sip of her water. She looked around. The stall had a small paddock attached to it so the mare could come and go as she pleased.

Ellie grinned at the mare and slipped out of the stall and didn't know what to call the mare, but something in her head told her that this mare had a name already. Ellie knew this mare was probley in some kind of books. She skipped to the office and jumped on the computer and knew this mare was an arabian and then began to figure out the age and breed and put everything she knew about the filly and smiled. Gabriela" She said to herself as she looked at the mares picture on the internet and it looked just like her. Ellie shut the computer off and walked back to the stall door and smile.Hey there Gabriela. She grinned and then looked toward the barn doors and smiled.

Gabriela watched as Ellie walked out of her stall. Gabriela went into her small paddock and looked around. The ranch was perfect. She saw quite a few Quarter Horses and Paints. She guessed that she was the only Mustang here and that Ellie's brothers didn't like Mustangs that much. I'll show them. She thought. The mare had already been broken to ride in Western and English. Gabriela excelled in both English and Western but she preferred Western. Gabriela came back into her stall and took another drink of water. Ellie came back and said"Hey there Gabriela." At her name Gabriela lifted her head and looked up at Ellie. She nickered softly as she nudged Ellie.

Ellie grinned as the mare nickered at her.Now Gabriela, I looked you up and well...I must say I'm pretty lucky to have you here. She said as she picked up a leather halter that had the McCoy stamp on it. Ellie opened the stall door and slid in. Ellie pushed her hand in her pocket and held out a small carrot in her hand and handed it out to Gabriela. Ellie had taken one of the halters off the stall that she was going to use for Gabriela as she should be treated as a queen and nothing else. Ellie waited for Gabriela to take the carrot and unbuckled the old halter that layed on the bay's head and slipped it off. Ellie held the new halter in her hands and sliped it on and buckled it to where it fit.There now your a McCoy Horse. She said with a grin and scratched the mare's neck.

Gabriela delicatley took the carrot from Ellie. Ellie unbuckled her old halter. Gabriela smelled the leather and new that Ellie would put a new halter on her. Gabriela lowered her head so it'd be easier for Ellie to put on the halter. Ellie had buckled the halter just right for mare. Ellie scratched her neck. Gabriela smiled and thought. I'm so happy I live here! Gabriela wondered when she would be allowed out with the other horses or when she would be ridden. After being couped in a pen for a couple of days her legs were stiff and the mare wanted to take a run.

Ellie grinned and could tell the mare was itching to get out of the stall.As long as you don't tell my brothers. She grinned and slipped out of the stall and sneaked down the isle and into the tack room. She dug around the tack room and found some splint boots and a snaffle bit for the mare and grabbed her saddle and pad went out the door. She placed the saddle on the stall door with the saddle pad on top. She grabed the lead of the hook on the stall and cliped it to the Gabriela's halter and tied her to the stall and then took acouple brushed form the bucket that laid on the ground and brushed the mare down first then grabed the comb to comb the ratty mane and tail. She got the hoof pick and began to pick each leg up to clean them out hoping to get no problems. Ellie grabbed the saddle and placed it on the bay mares weithers and then grabed the saddle and placed it on the saddle. She took off the cinch and back cinch and fixed it to where it would fit the bay mare. She walked to the left side and began to cinch the saddle up. She reached across to get the breast collar and buckled it to the saddle. Ellie then grabbed the blue splint boots and straped them on the front legs of the bay mare then grabed the bit. Ellie slipped the halter off and put the snaffle up to the mare's mouth.

Gabriela nickered softly. Ellie left and came back with a saddle and bridle. Ellie put the saddle on the mare's back and tightened the cinch. Gabriela swished her tail a couple of times as she cinched it up but didn't flinch. Gabriela accepted the snaffle bit when Ellie put it up to her mouth. She thought. Yes I'm finally steching my legs! After being cooped up in that pen! Gabriela couldn't wait for Ellie to mount so she could go for a ride and strach her legs. Gabriela was, well... rearing to go. Not literally though. However bad she wanted to go she would never do anything bad to try to get to run. That normally only resulted in not going and being put back in the stall or paddock. She knew some horses that did that. Some had even gotten sold because they did it to a small child or the wrong adult.

Ellie sliped the leather behinded the curved ears and took the split reins and opened the stall door to let the mare and her out. She walked down the isle adn out the barn door. She wasn't sure where she needed to go. Ellie thought and smiled and knew knew the cattle pasture's had a lot of room. Ellie put her foot into the sturrip andpulled her body into the saddle and sat down into the leather tool saddle and placed her other boot in the other sturrip and took the reins.Ellie clicked her tounge and nudged with her heels to get the mare to move off.

Gabriela followed Ellie out of the barn. She stopped when Ellie stopped and waited for Ellie to mount up. When Ellie mounted Gabriela waited untill she told her to move. When Ellie told Gabriela to move using her heels Gabriela took off at a medium paced canter. The mare hadn't been ridden in what seemed forever for her so she was eager to gallop or go faster then her medium paced canter that she was already doing. She loved to go fast and was very good at games. That's what last owner did anyway as well as English and Western. Gabriela placed very well in Western and in games. She got frists and seconds when she showed.

Ellie grinned at the mare who had so much pinned up energy that she just let the mare go. She nudged the mare to go alittle faster and leaned forward and grinned. She knew she was going to love this mare even more. Ellie patted the mare on the shoulder and rubbed it. Ellie put one hand on her hat that was on her head as the ran across the McCoy Ranch.

Gabriela responded by going faster at a fats hand gallop as Ellie had asked for more speed. She knew that she could on for a couple of hours at a canter maybe longer and could certainly do endurance or western. She hadn't ever done endurance riding before because her owner had never ridden her in it but the bay Arabian just had it in her to do the distance. Gabriela looked around as she galloped. This ranch looked so pretty. McCoy Ranch is what she thought it was called. At least that's what Ellie called it anyway. Since Ellie knew her and bought her here she knew that Ellie was correct.

Ellie grinned at the mare's speed as she covered the ground before them. Ellie pulled back on the reins while saying "whoa" at the same time. She knew this mare wanted to go faster, but she wasn't all that in shape and once they put alittle bit more weight and more ridding they could go all day long without ever stopping. Ellie loved this place and having all the room to run around and play.

Gabriela stopped galloping and started trotting along at a nice leisurely pace. She glanced around as they passed another barn that was one of the McCoy's. Gabriela looked around. She nickered when she saw the other horses in the paddock. That was fun! The blue roan mare thought. How she missed cantering with a rider on her back when was in that pen that they kept her in when she was captured by humans. Not that she minded of course. She couldn't see why horses would want to be wild. She hated it when she wild for that short period of time. The Polish Arabian mare spooked a little as a bird flew past them from behind the horse and rider.

Ellie grinned as the trotted around the cow barn as they headed back home. She thought she could put her in the mare pasture tonight and she will be okay. Ellie wasn't ready for Gabriela spook, but caught the saddle horn and pulled back on the reins.Easy girl...Settle down. She said as she rubbed the mare's neck. She sighed and knew they would have to work on alot of things, but that will come in time with alot of hard work. Ellie grinnedand pulled Gabriela into a walk and kept her in a walk back to the barn.

Gabriela settled down after the bird. She slowed down to a walk and walked back to the barn. She waited patiantly for Ellie to get off. That was fun! The mare thought. She loved running. She could go if you asked her to no doubt about it. The mare could also 'spin on a dime' if you asked her to. She loved to go but would listen if you didn't. Gabriela was kind of happy that she'd gotten captured by humans and sold. Otherwise she'd still be out in the wild fending for herself finding food and protection as well as shelter.

Ellie stopped the mare outside the barn as she swung her leg over the mare and then stepped to the ground. Ellie smiled and took the split reins and walked the mare into the barn adn began to unsaddle her in the isle by her stall. Ellie looked out as it was getting late so she was going to wait to put Gabriela in the mare pasture tomorrow. Ellie took ahole of the saddle and slid it off her back and set it on the ground. Ellie took the halter in her hand and then took the bridle off and slipped the halter on the mare's dished face. Ellie grinned and lead her back into her stall.there you go sweet girl she said as she uncliped the lead to the halter to let the mare wonder where ever she wanted to go.

Gabriela followed Ellie into the barn. She waited patiantly for Ellie to tack off her tack and put it away. Gabriela lowered her head so it would be easier for Ellie to put on her halter. Ellie then lead her inside and took off the lead rope. She was so lucky to find a nice owner who wouldn't sell her. Gabriela could just tell Ellie wouldn't sell her otherwise she probably would have already been put up for sale. Besides Ellie was really nice to. Gabriela wondered when she could go out in the paddock with the other horses.

Ellie grinned at the mare who looked out to the other mares'Maybe tomorrow you can meet everyone else. She grinned and rubbed the mare's forehead. She looked at the time on her watch as it began to get later in the evening.I'll see you tomorrow She said with a grin and made sure the door was locked good before going to the large barn doors and shuting off the main lights, but leaving the night lights on as she shut the barn doors.Good night my filly She said as she shut the door adn walked up the hill to the house.

Gabriela nickered softly to the other mares. Ellie rubbed her forehead. As Ellie got out of the stall and locked the door. Gabriela sighed. Gabriela nickered a soft nicker meaning'See you tomorrow.' Ellie closed the large barn doors and turned off the lights in the hallway. Now everything was silent except for the neighing of horse's and Gabriela's automatic water bucket. She took a couple drinks of the cool, clear, refreshing water. Gabriela sighed. She was still processing all the thoughts in her head as she tried to go to sleep. When she couldn't she just thought about all that happened in her day. Finally she fell alsleep.

Ellie woke up the next day even thought she hardly slept at all that night, she had wrote in her journal about her new horse and how the day went with. Ellie got up and got dressed and went down stairs where her brother's where sitting at the bar eatting eggs and sauage. Bought time you got up Alan said as he stuff his face with eggs. Clint looked at the plate that held eggs and sausage for her and smiled. I guess we better see what that mare can do. Clint looked at her adn sighed. Can't keep a horse if they don't earn it's keep and you know it. He told Ellie, but Ellie smiled and punched Alan. Alright...I guess we will just see what she has then. Ellie grinned and stuffed her mouth with eggs and sausage and drank her milk in one swallow. See yall at the barn. She said witha grin and jogged to the barn. Ellie opened the doors and was greated by nickeres, but she wasn't worried about the others. She had her eye on one horse and that was Gabriela. Ellie smiled as she can to the stall.Good moring Gabbie. She grinned and walked to the feed room and began to grabbed buckets of feed and walked down teh stalls and began putting each bucket in each stall for the horse's to eat.

Gabriela woke up early that day. She wondered were Ellie was. No sooner then thought that did Ellie appear. She nickered a soft nicker as Ellie turned on the lights in the barn. She waited patiantly for Ellie to give her grain. While she waiting she drank a couple sips of water. "Good morning Gabbie." Ellie said to her as she waited for Ellie to give her her grain. She wondered if she would be ridden today. Yesterday was fun! She loved to run. Especially since she hadn't run in forever till yesterday of course. She loved it here. Ellie was really nice. She hoped the other people would be to. She figured that they were Ellie's brothers. She hoped they'd be nice like Ellie.

Ellie made sure the rest of the horse's had grain and had water, before she came back to Gabbie's stall. Her brother's wanted to see her ride Gabbie, but she knew Gabbie would want to get out and run around and meet some new firends. So her brother would have to wait for later. She looked over to Gabbie and grinned at her. Ellie walked to the feed room and made sure everything was put back in its bins so her brother wouldn't get angry at me. Ellie came back out and grabbed the lead to Gabbie's halter adn opened the stall door.I bet your ready to out and strech your legs. She said to the arabian mare.
