His ebony hair seeming to contrast perfectly against his lightly tanned mexican skin. The sand felt warm against his sandaled feet. Though, at the same time, it somewhat felt cool. The young man wore baggy, red pants over his dark brown, stripe-printed swim trunks. But, he wore no shirt; which meant he was showing off his abs, and the muscles he earned from working on a ranch. Sunglasses rested over his brown eyes as he glanced around the uncommonly empty beach.
He had parked his dark blue truck in the parking lot of the beach and had carried everything he would need for the day down to the beach. Choosing the most perfect spot, he laid out a beach towel, and set a cooler of ice and drinks nearby it. Slowly, he undid his pants and pushed them down; finally only wearing his swim trunks. Once more, his chocolate-stained gaze shifted around the beach before he settled himself on the towel for a bit. He reached into the bag he brought with him and pulled out some sun tan lotion.
Within mere moments, he had the sun tan lotion spread over his arms, legs, and chest. None of it stuck out against his tanned skin. A soft sigh seemed to fall through this highly kissable lips before he replaced the bottle of lotion back in the bag. Leaning back, he gazed up at the sky for a bit; deciding to wait to go swimming for a bit longer. After all, it wasn't that hot out, yet.

She had been driving for about 6 hours now and really needed a break. She looked around as she stepped onto the black top. The parking a lot was pretty empty because all she saw was a blue truck. The blonde raised her arms above her head stretching her cramped body. She had not had a good night’s rest in over 24 hours and was sort of cranky at the moment. She had also been wearing dark blue skinny jeans and black sweat shirt that looked a little slept in, along with her blonde hair that was now in a messy pony tail. Sam sighed and turned to her horse trailer. She was running out of hay and grain for her black Friesian, Kuroma. She went around the trailer; peeping through one of the openings to check on Kuroma, and boy did he look upset. He must have been just as cranky as her, with not being able to stretch his legs. When the black horse noticed her, he gave a snort and swished his tail in an irritated manner. ‘Yup. He is definitely cranky!’, she thought to herself. She wondered if she let him run down the beach for a while just so he could stretch his legs out. He would always come back when she whistled for him and there wasn’t anyone on the beach that she could see, so no one would get hurt.
Samantha opened the trailer doors and walked up to Kuroma, petting him softly. The blonde went deep into thought while stroking her horse’s neck. She had nowhere to go now that her parents had kicked her out, claiming that horses were no way to spend the rest of her life. It wasn’t like she had any friends to run to. Samantha could always get a job at a diner or something, but even if she did get a job where would she sleep? And how would she pay for all of Kuroma’s feed and boarding? Things like that don’t come cheap, and a waitress’ salary was not much. Sam sighed and whispered aloud, “What am I going to do?” She did not know the first thing about being independent. Her parents had always paid for this kind of stuff. Kuroma brought her out of her thoughts when he nudged her in the shoulder. “All right boy, I decided to let you run on the beach for a while so you can stretch your legs. I know you get upset when you’re cooped up to long.” Samantha said with a smile on her face.
She untied Kuroma’s lead rope from the trailer and led him down the ramp and onto the sand. Once the two of them were on the sand she unhooked the lead rope from his halter and took a few steps back. The black male shook himself off and took off running down the beach. Samantha lifted her hand so that it shielded her eyes from the sun while she watched Kuroma run down the beach. An almost invisible genuine smile appeared on her lips. It was moments like these that really make her happy. She did not even notice the man lying on the beach, who was probably watching her. | [atrb=width,100] words ,

Shaking his head, he looked towards the girl who had released the friesian on the beach. No, that wasn't a girl, it was a woman. A woman that seemed to fascinate Hayden, just with the way she looked. His brown gaze swept over her figure, completely as a small smile graced his face. Standing, he made his way towards the girl. As he walked, he couldn't help but notice a small group of girls nearby staring at him. Rolling his eyes, he continued on his path towards Samantha. Stopping near her, he glanced back at the other girls who seemed to be glaring at Samantha with envious eyes. The look in their eyes caused him to smirk as he turned his attention back to Samantha.
"Hello," he greeted. The baritone tones of his voice were deep, yet soft. He also seemed to have a slight accent hidden within the tones. Glancing around for a few moments, he turned his gaze back towards her. "I'm Hayden Michaels. And, you are. . . quite beautiful. I mean, what is your name?" He inquired, his eyes never moving from her face. She was quite beautiful, and seemed quite interesting. Though, looks could be deceiving. Casually, he just stood there, a few feet away from her. Close enough to be able to talk to her; but not close enough that he was invading her personal space. However, he knew that his slight mishap of words wouldn't go unnoticed by the woman. They rarely ever did. A charming smile graced his lips as he continued to watch her.

She turned to whoever was speaking to her. It was a man with dark hair and warm chocolate brown eyes. He wasnt wearing a shirt so naturally her eyes would wander. She had to admit, he was a good looking man; she would never say it out loud though. She looked back into his eyes and gave a casual, “Hey.” Sam was too worried about where she was going to sleep for the night and what she and Kuroma were going to eat to be making new friends and flirting. She watched as Kuroma slowed his galloping to a trot. He looked as if he could not care less about the people and waves around him because he was all to happy to be stretching his legs. The man spoke up again this time saying, "I'm Hayden Michaels. And, you are. . . quite beautiful. I mean, what is your name?" The blonde scoffed at his comment, whether the slip up was on purpose or not she did not know. Samantha smirked and said, “I appreciate your compliment, but I’ve had kind of a bad day.” Her statement was only half true, compliments are always welcomed and instead of having a bad day it was more of a bad week.
Sam noticed a group of girls staring at her with jealous and judgmental eyes. It didn’t matter to her what other people thought of her. People are always going to judge you no matter how you look, how you act or what you wear. She ignored the stares the girls were giving her and went back to watching Kuroma. He was now knee deep in ocean water, he reminding Sam of a foal playing around in a meadow. Without looking back at Hayden she said, “My name is Samantha, feel free to call me Sam though, everyone else does.” The blonde’s crankiness started to come back to her along with hunger pains.
Samantha sighed and sat down herself down on the sand. She slipped off her shoes and dug her feet in the warm sand. She couldn’t even remember the last time she went to the beach. It wasn’t like she was going anywhere special so why not stay here for a few days and enjoy herself. May be some good relaxation for her mind would help ease her stress. Sam looked back up to Hayden and said “Well are you going to sit down or what?” Maybe he would know of some jobs in town and cheap boarding.

Seemed to be the only word that entered his ears as she greeted him in return. Just from the way she was speaking, he had a feeling something was bothering the young woman. Shrugging, he glanced toward her friesian; Kuroma, before glancing back at her at her words. 'I appreciate your compliment, but I've had kind of a bad day.' At her words, he thought about them for awhile. However, he watched as she glanced toward the group of girls before turning her gaze towards her stallion. 'My name is Samantha, feel free to call me Sam though, everyone else does.' Slowly, he nodded his head as she introduced herself.
"It's nice to meet you, Samantha. I'm guessing you're new here?" He inquired as he watched her sit down before slipping off her shoes and digging them into the warm sand. 'Well are you going to sit down or what?' At her words, he smiled slowly before sitting down next to her. His gaze drifted out towards the ocean as he watched the waves come rolling onto the sand. It was quite a beautiful sight to behold, and he was glad that he had decided to stop by the beach. Slowly, he turned his gaze back towards her as he waited for her to respond to his question. However, he was in no hurry. though, he did figure that if she didn't have a place to stay, he'd offer to let her stay in the spare room at the ranch.

I'm guessing you're new here?" Samantha sighed and said “Is it obvious? Or is this the kind of small town where everyone knows everyone?” Not that she minded small towns; it just meant that the people would be nosy gossipers who liked to be everyone’s business. He was correct in assuming she was not from around here. Samantha watched the waves crash onto the sandy beach. Her eyes glazed over as she remembered the fight she and her parents had a week ago. They basically told her that if she wasn’t going to go to college and follow in their footsteps, then he should leave. Sam tried to explain to them that she wanted to do something she enjoyed, like working with horses, instead of doing a job she hates just so she could get lots of money. Her parents wouldn’t have it though, they didn’t see things the way she did so they kicked her out. The blonde shook her head, pulling herself out of her thoughts. “I guess you could say I’m new...” she trailed off.
Kuroma had gone a little too far down the beach so Sam let out three long whistles to call the Friesian back to her. She let out a tried sigh and lay back on the sand, looking to the sky. There weren’t many clouds in the sky to hide the sun. Sam closed her eyes and let the sun warm her. If she was going to stay in town for a few days she would need somewhere to stay. She opened her eyes and looked over to Hayden, “Do you know of any cheap motels nearby?”
