The night was cool and a little colder than most nights. It was unusual for a summer night but the world was bi-polar,no one could control the weather.Especially not the little creature stumbling through the woods.Other than the cicadas chirping,it was pretty much silent, besides the cracking of twigs and other things that were being stepped on by the shaky foal.It didnt help her case that she kept almost falling every few feet....And she kept jumping at every sound. What could you expect from a foal that wasnt even two months old?
As the foal traveled through the forest, moonlight shone through the cracks between the leaves and branches in the trees, lighting up the golden and white patches on her pelt. The way the light shimmered on them made her true to her name.Though her name made more sense in the sunlight, and had more effect as it shined but the only light was from the moon and even then it wasnt very bright.Summershine stopped for a moment looking around sadly, she was almost ready to give up her search. After all it had been days since the little filly had seen her mother, and she had been searching for the same amount of time.
Finding a small-ish bush,Summer settled down and tucked her body in as close to the bush as she could. The wind started to blow through the forest, chilling the filly more than she already was.A small sound that sounded like a whimper escaped her as tears started running down her face.'I just want mommy'The young filly thought as more tears soon followed.

Hexxed and Kismet The air was unseasonably chilled for the area, though one would find the self control not to complain. Too many summers had been spent under the shade of oak trees, or on a never ending search for water. After all, in the pits of summer, many had met their ends by way of drought or heat stroke. Equines all over the area had shed their winter fur, making their bodies appear a little slimmer and less messy. Foaling season had come and gone, and little ones were frolicking about in the fields during the day times. For now, however, many were left to slumber lightly in the way horses liked to do, standing and with their eyes slightly open as if danger were to strike at any moment. Never ones to conform to social norms, two stallions wandered the world as if sleeping were secondary to all things. Taking a break from their endless travels, they nibbled at the grasses in silence. The pair was rather unusual in all ways. Stallions were known to band together in times of banishment or simple need, but the two adopted brothers were inseparable for reasons only they would ever know. Their past had brought them together, and through their desire to never forget they had stayed as seemingly one entity – even their names spoke of their fates to always stay together. Hexxed – or cursed – and Kismet – or luck. Not unlike Yin and Yan, the world was not quite right if they were separated. One painted a dark palomino was always the first to recklessly assume, and as the small sobs of a tiny being reached his ears, he instantly assumed the worst. ”Kismet, don’t you hear that? I think someone’s hurt.” Hexxed whispered, as if someone would pounce on his words and then him if he spoke too loudly. This was slightly out of character, but the way he pranced around his brother excitedly was not. ”Calm down, Hexxed. I don’t wish to get in trouble tonight.” The palomino, however, would hear nothing of his brothers’ words. The Colombian Paso Fino nipped his brothers whither, and fed his desire to stir trouble. Trees bordered the clearing they explored, and within moments Hexxed had disappeared into them. Kismet whinnied softly after him, and though he knew better than to meddle with things that didn’t concern him, the paint stallion could not let his companion wander off alone. Who knew the trouble he would get himself into? More than once had Kismet been forced to step into a battle he did not bring on himself. Following his keen ears, Hexxed traversed the woodland at a swift trot, leaves crackling beneath his sturdy hooves. Slowly as he neared the sound, he soon realized – far after his brother – that he was pursuing a foal. A filly. He could scent the small being from far away, though just now took notice of it. Slowing to a walk and then a stop as he neared the baby horse, Hexxed neighed quietly. ”What are you doing here?” Hexxed’s voice was somewhat harsh, as if the filly had no business in being there. The large stallion, flicking his tail almost violently at insect, was most likely intimidating, but within moments his counterpart had joined him and taken over. ”It’s okay, we won’t hurt you.” he whispered, stopping a few strides ahead of Hexxed. Kismet lowered his head and extended his neck, as if to nuzzle the small thing. ”My name is Kismet.”

Summershine Summershine was very close to having another panic attack. There were to many thoughts running about in her head, threatening to overload her mind.It was only last night that her mother had told her to run away and she would find her later. She still hadnt been found but she was confident that she would be soon, though that confidence was growing less each minute. Her sobs had quieted down to little sniffles as she laid her head down, hoping that morning would come quickly so she could continue trying to find her way back to where she had last seen her mother. The palomino filly went silent, hearing hoof-steps approach not to far away from where she was.A harsh voice sounded in her ears. ”What are you doing here?” Summer flinched staring up at the huge stallion standing in front of her.She couldnt speak, she was too afraid of what would happen if she did.Another came into her view and her gaze flicked back and forth between the two stallions. "Its okay,we won't hurt you"The other said coming closer and stretching his neck forward even closer. The filly pushed herself into the bush wanting to get away from them ."I-I want m-my mommy.L-leave me alone"She said quietly,stuttering.[/size]
