&&Unforgotten Rain. according to him i'm beautiful, incredible he can't get me out of his head.
Once again, the young ebony sabino rabicano paint mare found herself in the pasture. It was one of her favorite past-times when she wasn't working on her barrel racing career. But, today her owner had left for the day and had decided to let the young mare run free in the pasture. Rain tossed her tiara before prancing around the entire pasture. She had the entire area all to herself and enjoyed every minute of it.
Within a few moments, the young vixen had easily shifted into an easy gallop. Her mane and tail flowing behind her in the wind that rushed over her form. The sun continued to shine down on the ranch that she called home. Though the rays of the sun seemed to heat up the ebony patches upon the mare's coat; but merely seemed to reflect off of the ivory patches. Slowing to a halt, she lowered her tiara to the ground.
Lipping at the emerald blades of grass at her hooves, she chewed on them slowly, before lifting her tiara once more. Her chocolate-stained gaze shifted around the fenced area and the wild lands beyond. She often wondered what it'd be like to run free in the wild. But, she always turned her attention back to her owner and her career. She enjoyed it more than anything and wouldn't change that for the world.
After eating a bit, she continued her movement around the pasture; just enjoying the freedom. A freedom she can't get within a stall. She moved into a prance, the dance-like motions fluid and graceful. Though, they also seemed almost show offish if one looked close enough to the young maiden.

‘LAS VEGAS let’s go to vegas baby
Las Vegas had wandered closer to the human enclosures than ever before. It made him terribly unsettled, especially with his senses overwhelmed by human sights, scents, and sounds. His gracefully-crafted ears twitched every few moments, constantly searching for sounds that meant to gallop away quickly. The last thing Vegas wanted was to be caught by those two-legs. The thought was probably the only thing that terrified him. If ever faced with a human, he would totally lose his composure—Veg never lost his composure. Just being aware of what people could do to him freaked him out. The ever-sensible brain L.A. had questioned why he was risking this. Why didn’t he just go back to the Sanctuary where everything seemed much safer? He didn’t need a land and sure did not need to see if “ranches” were real.
But the ever-present curiosity in Veg pushed him onward, fighting his most primal instincts. The dark bay stallion had a need for furthering his knowledge that others did not understand. If he could just get near a ranch and observe what went on there . . . L.A. snorted and pinned his ears to his nape, pawing the ground. In that moment, he looked like a mighty creature. He was tall, muscular, and built beautifully. Andalusian was written all over him. Ears still laced into his ebony mane, Vegas moved closer to the human place he could now glimpse. His pace hesitantly moved to a canter, smooth and easy despite his mood. He grunted as a fenced-in area came in sight, something that he thought was called a “pasture.” The male came closer, now only a few feet from the fence. Veg pranced nervously in place, staring at the posts nervously from the corner of his eye.
Las Vegas pricked his ears in sudden interest at the sound of galloping hooves. He blinked when he saw a pretty mare. He was caught off-guard, something that rarely happened. L.A. raised his regal crown, multi-colored eyes watching her graceful movements. Cautiously, very cautiously, the stag walked to the fence. Intrigue won over everything as he reached his head over the fence, but didn’t touch the wood.

&&Unforgotten Rain. according to him i'm beautiful, incredible he can't get me out of his head.
The scent of an unfamiliar equine entered the nares of the ebony paint mare. The scent causing the maiden to cease her movements as she glanced around the pasture. Though, before long, her gaze had landed upon the wild stallion at her pasture fence. A snort scaped her nares before she took a cautious step towards him. The way he stood there gazing at her, made her almost uncomfortable, but she did a good job at hiding it. Her weight shifted slightly as she realized the stallion smelled of the wild. He didn't have a single human scent upon him.
Curiousity won over in her mind as she took a couple more steps towards him. But, as he stretched his head over the fence, she ceased her movements once more. Though, that didn't last for long, as she started moving towards him again. "Hello," she merely called, her voice soft and welcoming. She stopped a few inches out of his reach, her gaze shifting around the pasture. She knew her owner and her owner's brother wouldn't be home until late. But, for some reason, she felt the need to protect this mysterious; yet intriguing stallion.
She wondered why the stallion had come to her owner's ranch, but deep down, she hoped he'd stay for awhile. It was quite lonely without her owner around, and the stallions of the ranch only seemed to ever want one thing from mares. So, she was always separated from them and put into her own pasture. A pasture that she shared with no one. But, as she gazed at him, her gaze shifted towards the fence. The fence was low enough that any horse could jump it if they tried hard enough. But, Rain wasn't the type to try to escape her home.

‘LAS VEGAS let’s go to vegas baby
One green eye and one blue eye watched the dark-hued mare approach L.A. His ears flicked towards her in a questioning, hesitant way. The stallion had never before been faced by a tame horse. The girl didn’t look totally threatening, but at the same time . . . he had never encountered one and didn’t know how a tame horse might react to a wild horse. Though she seemed to be a creature of curiousity by the way she stared and moved towards him cautiously. Las Vegas turned his own head, wondering what on earth a tamed horse might do. Did she jump those fence-things? If so, why doesn’t she jump this small fence? Veg could jump it without hesitation, and he had never been trained!
The dark stag watched her, debating whether or not he should pull his head away from the posts. Would she attack him? He didn’t have the time to wonder about that, because she spoke in a soft, sweet voice. “Hello.” Veg snorted softly at their proximity, and at the nice sound of her voice. He had no idea how to respond, but kept his confused caution in check; instead, he looked at her in a ponderous way. “Hello,” the male responded, his voice was deep and mysterious but not threatening; he wouldn’t even imagine attacking her. It would be ridiculous to attack a mare, and not only that but a tame one. He had no idea of what fighting she might be able to pull off.
L.A.’s eyes wandered around the pasture, noting that the mare was totally alone. His ears twitched, listening for the sound of other horses. He could hear them in the distance, closer to the big building that he assumed was the actual ranch. Vegas’ nares flared, taking in the sweetly unique scent of the female. Now he might be able to identify others like her. “I’m Las Vegas. I don’t want to hurt you.” The statement was blunt, but honest. The bay stallion had no wish to hurt her, but maybe get to know her. Though that might endanger him.

The deep, mysterious tones of the stallion's voice entered her twin auds as she heard him greet her in return. The sounds of the other horses of the ranch seemed to fade out in the mare's mind as she kept her attention locked on the stallion. When he introduced himself, she let a smile grace her muzzle slowly. Las Vegas... The young paint mare thought in her mind, registering his name in her memories along with his scent. However, when he mentioned that he wouldn't hurt her, she took another step closer to him and stretched out her tiara. Slowly, she tried to sniff the stallion, to get to know him better.
But, her gaze seemed to move past the stallion and to the wild areas beyond him. Though, her gaze shifted back to him as she moved her tiara away from him. Slowly, she pawed at the ground. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Las Vegas. I'm Unforgotten Rain; but please, call me Rain," she responded in return with her own introduction. Shifting her weight slightly, she glanced behind her to the ranch house and stables. But, her gaze immediately shifted back to the young stallion near her. She was intrigued by him, very much. And, she actually wanted to know more about him. "I am glad that you don't want to hurt me. I won't hurt you either," she added carefully.

‘LAS VEGAS let’s go to vegas baby
L.A. watched the smile lift her maw in a pretty way. It was a pleasant smile, and it looked nice placed there. His ears flicked forward, pointed to her in curiosity. His eyes watched her like she was something he had never seen before—she was, but the only difference was that she was tame and he was not. She was firmly built, and obviously well cared for. Her perfectly brushed mane and tail made Veg’s matted mess look like birds could live in it. The stallion found her very attractive, more attractive than an unkempt wild mare (not that he found mares attractive that often; he really didn’t). She was dark in hue, much like him except darker. She appeared black, splashed with white; her face had a uniquely-shaped ivory marking. His gaze noted that she was scenting him, and that she had stepped closer. Veg nearly reached forward and touched his nose to hers, but didn’t want to scare her.
Vegas watched her eyes drift behind him, to the wilds beyond. He might have smiled if he were a charming equine, but he wasn’t so he just observed. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Las Vegas. I’m Unforgotten Rain; but please, call me Rain,” she said, pawing at the ground. Las Vegas shifted forward, moving only slightly closer to Rain. He flicked his ears as he felt the wood just barely brush his muscular chest. His gaze shifted for a second down to the wood touching him, jumpy at the human feeling. Calmly, he moved his eyes back to her as she spoke, “I am glad that you don’t want to hurt me. I won’t hurt you either.” L.A. kind of smiled at that, a millisecond glimpse of softness in his eyes. “That is good, I suppose. Excuse me, Rain, for I’ve never met an equine owned by humans. I am very . . . curious.”

Rain watched as the stallion seemed to study her darkened form. The ebony and ivory hue of the mare contrasted almost too perfectly together, but she was used to it the way she looked. Her sire and dam had both been american paint horses. But, each were a different color. Somehow, she had turned out to look almost nothing like her parents. Neither of them had an ebony and ivory coats; but she had turned out with that exact coloring. As she stood there, she noticed the stallion move closer to her. But, she also noticed how his gaze had shifted towards the wooden fence separating them. Her ebony auds flicked towards him at the sound of his voice. 'That is good, I suppose. Excuse me, Rain, for I've never met an equine owned by humans. I am very...curious.' At his lyrics, she nodded her head slowly.
" Don't worry, Las Vegas. I am quite curious about you, as well. You are the first wild equine I have ever met," she responded in turn. Slowly, she seemed to touch her nose to his before taking a step back, almost embarassed. For some reason, she kind of wished the fence wasn't separating the two of them. After all, it would give her someone to play with. Sure, she enjoyed having the whole pasture to herself; but she also enjoyed having someone to play with. Taking another step backwards, she glanced at the fence and snorted softly. Deep down, she wondered if he could jump the fence. It didn't seem all that high compared to his masculine build. But, if he didn't jump it correctly; he could end up getting hurt.
Slowly, the young maiden turned in a playful circle. But, as she finished the complete circle she glanced at Las Vegas and pawed the ground playfully. It was almost as though she was trying to tempt him to come and play. Of course, if he jumped the fence, there could be consequences. But, those were far from her mind as she was in a playful mood.

‘LAS VEGAS let’s go to vegas baby
Las Vegas never imagined he would run into a tame horse. He always grew-up being told fables and legends of the two-legged things that roped horses and made them their slaves. He feared humans to an unstable extent, but he could not deny the fascination he felt for this Unforgotten Rain mare. His two-toned gaze stared into her chocolate gaze, completely entranced by the tameness in her eyes. How does an equine become so . . . enslaved? Maybe it wasn’t exactly slavery, but having something on his back and being controlled was horrifying. Equines were created to be free. They were majestic, beautiful animals that should never be caged—by anyone. Veg was so curious of this mare and the fact that she seemed content with the hand she was dealt. The dark bay stag would never have been able to live with humans; he would make his owner’s life a living hell. Being tamed was totally unacceptable in the stallion’s mind.
“Don’t worry, Las Vegas. I am quite curious about you, as well. You are the first wild equine I have ever met.” Veg cocked his regally sculpted crown, intrigued by these words. So this pretty little mare wanted to know more about him? The fascinated male found that adorable; though to keep his mysterious appeal, he would never admit it. His one blue and one green eye had a smile hidden in them, but there was not a smile on his kissers. Vegas was somewhat of a puzzle in himself, with the way he wouldn’t show anything, but the subtle things showed what he really thought. Such as, if one were to observe his ears flicking and his eyes changing, they would see the amusement and interest really disguised there. But he really did his best to make the other find it.
L.A. jerked back to reality when he felt the softest touch of Rain’s muzzle. She had barely pressed it to his, and the ticklish feeling fascinated him. She smelled different than all the other horses he had met—sweeter and softer. The stallion blinked as she took a couple of embarrassed steps backwards, glancing at the fence. She began to turn in a cute circle; L.A. found it endearing. The stallion smiled with his two-toned eyes and stepped back. “You . . . you are endearing, Rain.” He stuttered a bit over the compliment, not used to the words. Veg stepped back and looked at Rain, saying, “Do you mind if I . . . uhm, join you?

'You...you are endearing, Rain.' At the sound of his stuttering compliment, Rain's auds flicked in response to his words. It was the first compliment she had ever received from another equine. Of course, her owner complimented her, constantly. But, this...this was different. Her gaze shifted slightly as she noticed him take a step backwards away from the fence. 'Do you mind if I . . . uhm, join you?' At his question, she glanced from him then to the fence, before shifting her gaze back towards him. Normally, worry would have crossed her mind; but she hardly knew the stallion across the fence. Though, she had pretty much tempted the stallion to join her on the other side; so, she wasn't about to turn him down at his question. After all, it would give her someone to play with in the large pasture.
"I don't mind if you want to join me," she responded in turn to his question. A smile crossing her facade as she took a step away from the fence again. Tossing her tiara, she pawed at the ground before lowering her tiara. Her chocolate-stained gaze locked on his form as she waited for him to join her inside the pasture. The young maiden was actually looking forward to the wild stallion entering her pasture. Her ebony tail flicked back and forth behind her form slowly as she thought about L.A. and waited for him. Things seemed different around the stud. Almost as though she could be free and able to live her life the way she wanted. Of course, if she ever did decide to escape into the wild, she'd probably end up missing her barrel racing career and her life being pampered by the humans. She also didn't know if she'd ever be able to survive in the wild, after living within the human realm for so long.

Las Vegas watched calmly as the mare pondered his question. He understood if she would hesitate, even if he knew he wasn’t going to hurt her—she didn’t know that. His two-toned stare continued to stay level, trying to convey that whatever she decided would be fine with him. His gracefully crafted ears twitched back and forth, staying at attention for any two-leg that might interrupt their meeting. The stag imagined the situation he would be in if caught inside the wooden fence. The humans would probably run at him with their ropes, and maybe even chase him with the horses they had enslaved. They would carry the two-legs . . . and totally betray their own species. L.A. almost shuddered at the thought of that. He would never betray his species to the humans, but he didn’t know much about the tame horses.
Veg twitched his ears at thesound of Rain’s voice, “I don’t mind if you want to join me.” Surprise would have crossed his face, but instead he watched a smile cross Rain’s. The dark stallion wasn’t about to show a flash of emotion. He stepped back a bit, looking for the right amount of space to get a running start. His eyes took in the endearing way that Rain pawed the ground and flicked her tail. She was playful; which was probably what made him want to get into the pasture in the first place. With a soft snort and a paw at the earth, Vegas galloped toward the fence. It wasn’t that high, he told himself so he couldn’t hesitate. Hesitation could kill him. The bay stallion lifted off the ground, keeping form gracefully over the fence. He landed with a soft thud, taking a few steps forward from the momentum.
Sighing softly, Veg turned himself to face Rain, prancing a little in place. He arched his neck and pranced around the mare, eying her playfully; that was out of character for him, but he assumed it was the tame mare. “So, Rain . . . What exactly do you do, in this fenced-in field?”

The young maiden watched as the stallion moved backwards a few more feet before he started galloping towards the fence. She almost looked away as he lifted off of the ground and soared over the fence, but she didn't. When he landed on the other side, relief seemed to flash across her eyes, but she just gazed at him. Her gaze roamed over his form, making sure he was okay. It was almost as though she was worried about him. Shifting slightly, she watched him turn towards her and prance in place. But, it didn't take long before she watched him arch his neck and prance around her form. 'So, Rain. . . What exactly do you do, in this fenced-in field?'
His question caught the young mare off guard as she pondered it over in her mind for a bit. Though, the question was pretty easy to answer. "I just usually graze and race myself. . ." she commented in response to his words. Though, she felt almost embarrassed at mentioning that she raced herself at times. Her gaze continued to follow his form, even as she answered his question. Her tail continued to flick back and forth behind her own form. Once more, she shifted her weight a bit. But, thought about what to ask him. "What do you usually do. . . outside of the fence? You know. . . out in the wild." She inquired, carefully choosing her words.

Las Vegas stared quietly at Rain, his different colored eyes taking in all that he was seeing. Being the observant creature he was, the small details were delightful to him. The stallion liked taking certain things and studying them until he learned everything he could about them. It was a habit he had picked up through the nomadic existence he normally had. If someone like him didn’t pay good enough mind to the areas surrounding him, he/she would could be easily picked off by local predators and sometimes even the locals themselves. He was making sure to be extra-vigilant of his surroundings at the moment, only because there could be humans surrounding him at any moment. At that thought, he became a little jittery and unsettled, glancing around with his ears twitching. The stag was positively terrified of capture.
The mare hesitated before answering, and Veg caught onto that. “I just usually graze and race myself . . .” She raced herself? That seems like a boring existence, but amusing to someone who was watching. L.A. actually found it quite amusing. Well, maybe he could provide her someone to race. The dark bay stallion could tell that Rain was looking over his form, but he didn’t mind. He might have been uncomfortable if she were a wild horse, but she didn’t pose any immediate threat like a wild mare could. “What do you usually do . . . outside of the fence? You know, in the wild.”
|
[/b] L.A. cocked his head and took a few steps closer to Rain before answering. He had to think a bit, and his movements toward her were subconscious. “Well, I think it’s different for most equines,” he began, pondering how to explain, “because some wander, and some don’t. I’ve been a wanderer all my life. I’ve never been in one land for more than a few months. But . . . I think I’m going to settle down.” He didn’t know why he added that last part, and it was a little strange to admit something. His ears swiveled toward her, pricked to attention. “It must be lonely, racing yourself. In the wild, you can run into someone and race them.” The stag smiled a bit, twitching his tail. “Would you like to race, Rain?” Veg turned and pawed the ground, turning to look at her from the corner of his eye. click image for credits. Rain's gaze seemed to watch as the dark bay coated lord gazed around the fenced-in field. Though, as he took a few steps towards her; she just continued to watch him, refusing to move at all. Even though most mares would step away from a stallion like him. But, she was intrigued even more by him. 'Well, I think it's different for most equines.' Her ebony auds heard him begin before he continued. 'Because some wander, and some don't. I've been a wanderer all my life. I've never been in one land for more than a few months. But. . . I think I'm going to settle down.' As he finished speaking, she thought about the last thing he had said. Settle down.' She kind of wondered what he meant by that. But, most of all, she wondered why a stallion like him would want to settle down, at all.
"Why would you want to settle down?" She inquired, picking her words carefully to make it seem as though she knew what the words meant. But, she continued to ponder that thought, even as she heard him speak once more. 'It must be lonely, racing yourself. In the wild, you can run into someone and race them.' The lyrics entered her auds as she watched him smile. 'Would you like to race, Rain?' At the mention of race, a smile crossed her muzzle and she nodded her head. "I would love to race," she responded and turned in the direction he was facing.

Vegas’ ears twitched slightly, realizing that Rain had asked a question and he had talked past her. He continued to flick his ears back and forth, somewhat unsettled by the careful question. Why did he want to settle down? There was something unique about Silver Moon, he couldn’t deny that. He liked the feel of it and how dispersed all of the wild horses were, yet at the same time . . . the humans made him very uncomfortable. It was something that he felt he could live through, though; even if it seemed absolutely horrifying at the moment, L.A. knew that deep down he could handle the things humans would throw at him. Of course he had heard bed-time stories of the whips that the two-legs used to discipline horses, and the abuse that some animals could be put through. The stallion didn’t want to have to deal with that kind of thing, but wouldn’t shy away from the challenge if forced to live with it.
From the way he was looking at her, Vegas could see the smile cross Rain’s maw. “I would love to race.” He was delighted to hear that. Really; he was. The stag was just a little slow when it came to expressing his delight. It was a complex he had, developed from his past of being a hermit and the past before that, as well. “Well, then. Let’s go.” He smiled and took off, slowly at first because he knew she would be caught off guard. Veg expected to race around the pasture, following the fence line. He hadn’t been in a field so clear since he was a foal, so it was hard to hold in his instinct to gallop. He arched his neck in a powerful way, knowing that his legs were acting up with their attempts to gallop. Finally, he began to gallop. The stallion’s legs ate up the area, long and graceful and muscular. He didn’t know where Rain was but wasn’t paying all that much attention to her—he was completely caught in the feeling of galloping.

As Rain had waited for an answer to her question, she soon realized she wasn't going to receive one. But, she didn't let it bother her. 'Well, then. Let's go.' At his words, she noticed him take off at a slow pace. Slowly, she slipped into a trot after the stud. Though, when he moved into a faster pace, she soon picked up her own faster pace. Her mane and tail flowing in the wind behind her. Her stride long as she attempted to catch up to him. Though, even if she didn't win the race, she'd be happy. This was a change from always racing herself. Her nostrils flared while she galloped after the stallion.
Right now, she was just basking in the feel of the wind on her form and the happiness that swarmed in her bodice. Her strong limbs carried her around the pasture. She didn't know whether she had managed to pass him or not, but she soon reached the place where they had started at. Shifting slightly, she skidded to a halt as she caught her breath. Though, as she halted her mane fell back against her neck delicately. A soft laugh escaped her slightly parted kissers as she soon lowered her tiara. Within moments, she had a few emerald blades of grass within her jaws and was chewing away at them.
