Bruce nickered softly to himself. He was so lonely. How he yearned to have the touch of a mare. He missed having someone to talk to. Snakes didn't count, since they couldn't understand. He looked beyond the horizen, waiting to see some sign of life. His orbs couldn't catch anything. He sighed and shifted as he waited for another's company. Why was he all alone?
Why couldn't he still have his mate, and be frolicking with her and his was to be foal. The humans had stolen everything from him. She was shot because she was pregnant. He had revolted on them, and taken a shot in the shoulder. He managed to find a stick and move the bullet out and it healed up nicely. He had killed all three of the humans. He had also watched his mate bleed to death. He had been walking alone ever since.

A blue roan fae entered the abdode. She was looking for a herd and a mate. The fae flicked her auds back listening for any other sounds. She looked around seeing the area. Seeing a couple of stallions, the fae saw one that stood out from the rest. He a powerful stallion. A big black Fresian with a small white star on his face. He looked powerful and strong. The stallion was also tall. Maybe 16 hands,17 hands? She guessed as she glanced at him. The fae turned her head away from him not wanting the stallion to have seen her glancing at him. She walked some more and lowered her head. The blue roan mare grazed a bit. The grass was coll and delicious.
The mare had scars all over her pelt. The scars were from her past. She was born here but was kicked out when her father was killed and a new stallion took over. From there she was taunted and bullied. A human had captured her and abused her badly. Finally a fire broke out and she had managed to get away. The fae had run away back to were she was born only to find out that her herd had been driven far away just like all the other herds by helicopters.

Bruce lifted his head smelling a fae. His twin towers raised up and his orbs searching the rolling grass. Not Spotting anything his ears pulled back and he snorted. Then he saw a flash of blue. He quickly walked over to investigate. The stallion had found a young fae grazing, her blue roan pelt covered in scars.
"Hello there miss." He said with a dip of his head. Bruce came up six feet in front of the mare, not wanting to make her feel insecure. "It's been a stormy day, but it seems to be smoothing out. Alas, I didn't get your name on this fine evenin'. Many call me Bruce." He said his ears pricked and a smile playing with his whiskers. Please don't freak out and run away. Please stay! Bruce thought to himself, keeping his face unclear of any other the strained thoughts racing through his head.

The fae looked up startled. She glanced around and saw the stallion she had noticed earlier was closer now. "Hello." She said. "Yes it's been raining today. My name is Glory's Pride. However many call me Glory." The fae noticed that the stallion seemed to be thinking about something.
Glory glanced up at the sky. It seemed to be clearing up of the rain that had fell earlier today. The fae hated rain. When it hit her pelt she jumped. The rain usually reminds her of her past. The human hit her with the whip and used spurs when he rode her. Of course he only rode the mustangs that way. He was cruel though to all his horses that he had.

Bruce looked at the fae. "Well Glory, I'm sure glad it's been clearing up! By the way I forgot to ask what herd you lived in. I just claimed a land and I'm looking for some more members." Bruce said with a chuckle. A little spark of hope lit up his eyes. This mare wasn't special, but at least she was someone to talk to. His smile still played across his face. He was still remembering how they had killed his wife. He still hadn't gotten over it. He was smiles and happiness on the outside, but a wreck inside. His foal had been due a couple days after she was shot.
Bruce could still hear her pained cry ringing in his ears. As he watched hopelessly as the bullet punctured her stomach, too close to the womb. He had watched her thud to the ground, and her shallow breaths. With her misery giving him anger he had managed to break free and kill the humans. He had been shot too, but he had survived. He had been too late to save her. He still felt like the bullet had seared through his heart instead. It wasn't healthy for him to be like this, and dear Ariala would've wanted him to be happy. Maybe it was time to find a new mate...

Glory smiled. "No. I don't have a herd." She said. The sky was clearing up. Glory wondered what the name if his land was. Glory knew that the stallion probably wouldn't ask her to join his herd but you never knew.
Glory again thought of her past. She had never seen her herd or any other herds for that matter. The humans had driven them all away and replaced was a new generation. A new generation of wild horses. That was ok though. Most herds of the old generation were cold hearted. One of the reasons she was driven out of the herd. The blue roan mare was sweet and kind. She was also feisty and had a bit of a temper to.

Bruce looked at the fae. She seemed really sweet, but he learned never to be prejudice. He cocked his head. He looked at the mare. "Would you like to be the first member of my harem, besides me?" Bruce asked softly. He was feeling kind of nervous. What if she said no? Chances are she wouldn't but there was always that possibility. His mind was racing faster than his heart.
Why was he like himself. He was an idiot himself. Why couldn't he be a bold stallion that would sweep her off her feet, or a strong stallion that could woe her to death. No he was just a wimpy, shy stallion who kept stumbling over his words. That wasn't fair to him, and he'd never be able to get more members if he remained the way he was. He smacked himself mentally and hoped that he would be more confident now.

Glory looked up. She listened to what Bruce had to say. Stay here alone or go with him? Stay alone foever or go with this kind stallion? She thought. She replied "Sure. I'd love to." Her heart was beating so fast that she thought that Bruce had heard it.
Glory smiled at the stallion. Bruce was so kind and caring. As well as nice. He also looked strong and powerful not like some stallions she had met who couldn't even talk to a mare. Some she had seen couldn't even look at one. Bruce looked very strong. The fae glanced up at the sky. Luckily the clouds had cleared and the sun was shining brightly. Glory's pelt had dapples over it the sun hitting her pelt at the right angle so it looked like the mare had dapples all over her pelt.

Bruce looked at her with a ever kinder look on his face. He looked at Glory. He smiled softly. "I can't believe it. Well I guess I should explain how it looks. It's a grassy valley with many rolling hills. It has a few trees here or there, and a small creek." Bruce smiled. "It's very peaceful, and pretty." Bruce swiveled his head out to the setting sun. "It's serenity and beauty make it perfect for a herd. I couldn't imagine living elsewhere. Shall we start going?" He said turning to face Glory. He looked at her dappled coat. Her beauty forced the air from the lungs.
He tried to make his shining black coat look as spectacular as hers shifting barely. He failed, but not by much. The sunlight bounced around on his coat giving it a purple sheen. He flicked his ears in the direction in front of him. "We should get started now if we want to get there before dark." He said flashing a dazzling white smile.

Glory smiled at Bruce. "It sounds beautiful Bruce. Very peaceful to it sounds like." The blue roan replied to the big Fresian stallion. "Sure. We'd better probably. The sun is almost starting to set. She said in agreement to Bruce's question. Glory smiled as Bruce tried to make his coat sparkle. His ebony black coat looked like it had diamonds sparkling on it as the sun hit it in the right spot. His black coat looking like it had a purple sheen to it as well. Bruce spoke again and Glory flicked her auds back listening to him speak. She nodded in agreement and said"We should. The sun is almost going to set soon." Glory smiled as Bruce flashed her a dazzling smile. Glory looked around and noticed that most of the other horses had gone and some more had come in. She guessed probably lonors or their looking for a herd.

"Well, lets go then!" Bruce said with a smile. He started trotting along. He was having flash backs of his old mate. She was a beautiful kiger mustang with unique stripes. His heart made a painful beat but he kept his happy face off. Everybody had painful memories, everyone made mistakes. He was a good horse and he knew it happened for a reason. He looked around at some of the bad looking horses. Some were skin and bones, and some of the had five feet of fat around their stomach, it wasn't a very pretty sight, but Glory looked perfect in his eyes.
